Chevy Suburban LT
| | Model of the car: | Chevy Suburban LT | | | General comments: | Would recommend highly if you have occasion to haul kids or travel frequently and if you purchase a warranty (ours paid for itself within three weeks of buying it!). The mechanical problems were annoying (the transmission went out an hour into a trip to Houston) but since all were covered by the warranty, some of the inconvience was avoided. We no longer own this Suburban but we are currently looking at buying another Suburban since this one held up so well when we were rear-ended by a young kid and shoved over a guard rail. We (mom, dad, two kids) were all buckled in and the car frame yielded very little, protecting us all from injury (even though the car was otherwise totalled). Can't come with a better recommendation than that, I guess. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Mechanical problems - transmission (replaced at 61,000 miles), steering (speed sensor), starter motor, gear box. (Thank God we had the foresight to buy the extended warranty.) Have to mention gas mileage and parking, too, but both are expected with this size vehicle so neither "problem" has bothered us. | | | Previous car: | 1991 Ford Explorer - beats the Ford hands down |
